Data Collection Overview
This page is a plain-language overview of the personal data that BookyDate.com (“BookyDate”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, why we collect it, and how long we keep it. It is meant to make our data practices easy to see at a glance.
This overview complements, but does not replace, our Privacy Policy, which contains the full detail on the legal bases for processing, how we share data, international transfers, security, your rights under the LGPD and GDPR, and how to contact us. Where this page and the Privacy Policy differ, the Privacy Policy governs.
1. Data you provide
When you register and use BookyDate.com and its related interfaces (the “Site”), you may provide:
- Account data: email address, password, display name, date of birth, gender, country or location, and preferred language.
- Profile data: photos, descriptions, attributes, and preferences you choose to publish.
- Verification data: a government-issued ID and a selfie, where age or identity verification is required.
- Payment-related data: the information needed to add Wallet credit or buy Premium (payments are handled by payment processors, and we do not store full card numbers).
- Communications: messages and content you submit, and correspondence when you contact support or answer a survey.
2. Data we collect automatically
When you use the Site, we may collect:
- Device and technical data: IP address, device and browser type, operating system, and device identifiers.
- Usage data: pages and profiles viewed, actions taken, referring pages, and timestamps.
- Approximate location: derived from your IP address.
- Cookies and similar technologies: used for login, security, preferences, and measurement.
3. Data from third parties
We may receive limited data from others:
- Payment processors: confirmation and status information about your transactions.
- Service providers that help us prevent fraud and abuse: signals used to keep the Site and network secure.
4. Why we collect it
We use this data to:
- operate, secure, and improve the Site and your account;
- provide profiles, search, messaging, the Wallet, and Premium;
- process payments and keep Wallet and transaction records;
- verify age and identity and meet legal record-keeping obligations;
- prevent and investigate fraud, spam, abuse, and other harmful activity; and
- send service messages and, with your consent, marketing you can opt out of.
5. Legal bases
Depending on the data, we rely on performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, our legitimate interests, or your consent. The Privacy Policy explains each basis and how to withdraw consent.
6. How long we keep it
In general:
- Account and profile data: while your account is active, and for a limited period afterward.
- Verification and transaction records: for as long as the law requires us to keep them.
- Usage and technical logs: for a limited period, for security and analytics.
- Backups: data may persist in backups for a limited time before deletion or anonymization.
7. Who we share it with
We share data only with service providers acting on our behalf, with other users according to your visibility settings, and where the law requires. We do not sell your personal data. See the Privacy Policy for detail.
8. Your rights and choices
You can access, correct, or delete profile data in your account settings, manage cookies in your browser, and opt out of marketing. You also have rights under the LGPD (Brazil) and the GDPR (EU and EEA), described in the Privacy Policy, including how to exercise them.
9. Cookies
We use essential, preference, and measurement cookies and similar technologies. You can control them through your browser. The Privacy Policy describes the categories in more detail.
10. Changes to this overview
We may update this overview from time to time and will post the new version on this page with a revision date.
